Signing a cooperation agreement between the Federation of Palestinian Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture and PAAC Palestinian Universities
A cooperation agreement was signed between the Federation of Palestinian Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, and four Palestinian universities: Al-Quds University, Hebron University, An-Najah National University and Palestine Technical University Khadouri, on Thursday 2 May 2019 in Ramallah in the presence of a large number of representatives from the private sector, academia and government. This agreement comes within the framework of the joint Dutch-Palestinian NICHE-PAA-233 project funded by Nuffic.
On behalf of Maastricht School of Management, CEO Meinhard Gans and MSM local representative Suhail Sultan presented the main milestones of the project in creating the first joint master program in Agribusiness; strengthening scientific and applied research; developing strategic plans for the faculties of agriculture; and creating a national agricultural platform that consists of academia, private sector and government. Sultan, emphasized the importance of the partnership between the Federation and PAAC universities in creating a competitive agricultural sector. Sultan stressed that the project will continue to transfer advanced knowledge and expertise to the Palestinians to help in creating an agricultural expert center.
Joint Dutch-Palestinian project
The multiple-year project “Strengthening innovation processes through Higher and Professional Education in Food Security, Agriculture and Rural Development” is a project funded by Nuffic. The aim of the project is to give Palestinian people access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food, while Palestinian farmers, including smallholders, have the capacity to compete nationally and internationally.
