MSM continues collaboration with Nova Business School Africa for Ecobank Ghana Leadership Accelerator Programme
Maastricht School of Management (MSM) has recently delivered a new module as part of the Ecobank Leadership Accelerator Programme (LAP), a 12-month leadership journey for promising mid-career professionals of Ecobank Ghana.
The programme brought together participants from five West African countries: Ghana, The Gambia, Guinea, Senegal and Liberia. Delivered in collaboration with Nova Business School Africa, the LAP is designed to strengthen leadership capabilities and support the development of future-ready leaders across the Ecobank network.
The module, Human-Centred Performance Management, was delivered by MSM associated faculty member Sandra Adriaansens. Building on an earlier leadership skills module, the sessions focused on how managers can improve team performance while maintaining a strong people-centred approach.
Topics included strategic execution and performance management frameworks, the development of effective KPIs, high-performance teams, and the balance between accountability and ownership. Participants also explored concepts such as Goodhart’s Law and reflected on how performance indicators can unintentionally shift focus away from broader strategic objectives.
Throughout the two-day module, participants engaged in peer learning, reflection sessions and practical discussions linking theory to their own organisational context. The programme concluded with an integrative assignment in which participants translated key insights into concrete actions for their daily management practice.
The LAP runs alongside the Ecobank Ghana Executive Leadership Development Programme (ELDP) for senior executives, which MSM also delivers in collaboration with Nova Business School Africa. Earlier modules focused on Sustainability and ESG Integration and Driving Organizational Culture and Collaboration.
