MSM Executive MBA welcomes new participants

06-11-2018

From 20-27 October the MSM Executive MBA classes on Marketing in a Global Context and Global Supply Chain Management took place. This time we welcomed 10 new participants into the program.

The Marketing in a Global Context course introduced the participants to both the conceptual tools and practical realities of marketing within globalizing business environments. The Global Supply Chain Management course provided the participants with concepts, models and methods that are important for the design, control, operation and management of global supply chains in a dynamic world.

New Executive MBA student Evalyn van de Laak really enjoyed the two courses. “I was a little bit apprehensive about going back to school. It's been so many years, that I thought it would be difficult to stay focused all day long for 8 days in a row. But in fact the courses and the way they are taught kept things interesting, so I was easily able to stay alert throughout the day. The teachers use an interactive way and make things very practical by giving loads of examples, but also with games to put the theory into practice.”

The students also enjoyed a work visit to Sabic. During the work visit the group was divided into smaller groups to work on a real-life scenario. “It was really fun to be provided with a real-life scenario and get to think about how you could handle it, with the needed time pressure of course. What really worked well here was the fact that we worked in groups, which means that you get to benefit from everyone's experience and different points of view. This is valid for all the group work we did throughout the week, by the way”, Evalyn indicated.

Evalyn looked at several schools of her Executive MBA but eventually choose for MSM: “I really felt at home at MSM with a more personable approach and I also liked the flexibility that MSM offers. I won't necessarily need it but it's nice to know it's there, should anything unexpected happen,” she says.
