MSM delivers customised leadership programme for senior banking professionals from Sri Lanka

26-05-2026

From 20 to 24 April 2026, Maastricht School of Management (MSM), welcomed a delegation of senior banking professionals from Sri Lanka for the customised executive programme Driving High Performance: Strategic Leadership for Banking Executives.

Designed specifically for senior leaders in the banking sector, the programme focused on strategic leadership, performance management, high-performing teams, and the role of innovation and digital transformation in the future of banking. Through interactive sessions, case discussions and practical exercises, participants explored how organisations can strengthen performance and leadership capabilities in a rapidly evolving financial landscape.

The programme was led by MSM experts Oliver Olson and  Sandra Adriaansens, who guided participants through topics including strategic performance management, leadership styles, teamwork and strategy execution.

A key element of the programme was the integration of company visits across the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Germany, allowing participants to connect classroom learning to real-world business practices.

The group visited Vodafone Business in Luxembourg, where participants explored digitalisation, artificial intelligence and change management in practice. In Cologne, Germany, the delegation visited DEG and Crowdfox, gaining insights into sustainable finance, development banking and the growing impact of AI-driven procurement solutions.

In the Netherlands, participants visited Tech Mahindra in The Hague to discuss technology-driven transformation in the banking sector and the implementation of large-scale digital change programmes. The programme concluded with a visit to ING in Amsterdam, where participants learned more about sustainable finance developments, European regulatory frameworks and practical banking case studies.

In addition to the academic and professional components, the programme also offered opportunities for networking, cultural exchange and international collaboration, contributing to a dynamic and engaging learning experience for all participants.

MSM looks back on a successful week and would like to thank all partner organisations and speakers who contributed to the programme.
