MSM and RWTH Aachen University welcome new M.SC. in Management and Engineering students

11-10-2018

Last week, MSM and RWTH Aachen University welcomed a new batch of first-year M.Sc. in Management and Engineering (MME) students. First at MSM in Maastricht, Mr. David Cass, Director of Education and Executive Development and Prof. Andreas Zynga, Academic Coordinator of the MME-programs addressed the students and invited them to enjoy a city tour through the historic city of Maastricht. A couple of days later, the new MME-students were officially welcomed at MSM’s partner RWTH Aachen University. During an official opening, Mr. Meinhard Gans, MSM CEO, welcomed the students on behalf of MSM.

Mr. Gans addressed the changing world during his speech and how MSM and RWTH Aachen University develop those leaders prepared to deal with this change. “Imagine how the world looked 2 years ago and try to predict how it will be two years from now, when you finish the program. Try to anticipate what is required in terms of your competencies and skills, be it in engineering or leadership.” Mr. Gans continued indicating that, “In order to face the changes, you will need strong leadership competencies, combined with entrepreneurial skills and ethical values. We see it as our task to help you to develop those skills, targeting both individual competencies, organizational skills and strategic leadership and entrepreneurship.”

The collaboration with RWTH Aachen University continues to expand and now exists out of 5 M.Sc. in Management and Engineering programs in the areas of Production Systems, Electrical Power Systems, Computer Aided Mechanical Engineering, Water Management and Structural Engineering and Risk Management of Industrial Facilities. In the first year students follow the Engineering classes at RWTH Aachen University and in the second year the students join MSM for their Management classes. This year we welcomed the first intake of the M.Sc. in Management and Engineering in Structural Engineering and Risk Management of Industrial Facilities. The MME-PS program already started with the 6th intake.

The application deadline of all M.Sc. in Management and Engineering programs is 1 March of each year.
