MSM welcomes first participants in the Executive PhD in Private Sector Development

“During the on-campus workshop as part of the Executive PhD we met with the professors and other researchers. This interaction was very useful. During the proposal presentation, I received very useful feedback from the experts which will definitely help me to refine my research topic.”

This is what current Executive PhD participant Maryam Riaz Wattoo said after attending the first on-campus workshop. “During the workshop I also got to meet the fellow participants who come from different parts of the world. I could see in them the love for learning. The group is very dynamic and I am already looking forward to enjoy the PhD journey with them.”

“I choose to start with an Executive PhD as I already work in academia for over 20 years and for me it is essential to obtain a PhD. I have extensive experience in the field of data science and education and feel strongly that by using this I can contribute successfully to the body of knowledge”.

One of the main reasons for Maryam to choose the MSM Executive PhD is because of the fact that she did not want to leave her job and move to another country to complete her PhD. “The MSM Executive PhD gives me a flexible option to continue my work and my research in parallel.”

Maryam also highlighted the beautiful Tapijn campus after her first stay in Maastricht. “I had a wonderful time. MSM is situated in an old historic city and the whole vibe of the city is very positive. My hotel was on walking distance from the campus and the walk took me through the old streets and along the beautiful canal bank. The campus is very green and peaceful. Next time, I plan to stay for a longer period of time so that I can spend more time at the campus.”
