Meet MSM's staff members: introducing Sandra Adriaansens

09-05-2018

At MSM we are proud of the more than 40 staff members who are committed and eager to fulfill our mission in offering management and entrepreneurship education, advice and research to individuals and organizations from all over the world. To become more acquainted with our staff members and to show you how it feels for them working at MSM we will each month highlight one of our staff members. This month the spotlight will be on Sandra Adriaansens.

Let me introduce myself…
My name is Sandra Adriaansens and I am Senior Manager Business Development at MSM. In the past I have been active as commercial “change agent” for various national and international profit and non-profit organizations. In this capacity my main focus was pursuing new sustainable business by finding innovative distribution channels, markets and improvement of internal processes to drive new type of revenues. During the years I have learned that the (prospective) customer is your best friend in achieving these goals.

Change can sometimes be experienced as “painful”, rather than considering it as a positive challenge..
As Senior Manager Business Development at MSM it is my main goal to drive new business doing this mainly by showing the outside world the uniqueness of MSM compared to other educational institutions. MSM strives to be an inspiratory and a true example of “practice what you preach”. This means: be innovative, customer oriented, unique and sustainable by offering lifelong learning programs with a strong focus towards science and technology management. Meeting these promises sometimes implies change, requires another mindset, attitude and market approach. Change can sometimes be experienced as “painful”, rather than considering it as a positive challenge to make us better. I prefer to consider change as a “nice journey”.

The historical identity of MSM provides enormous opportunities for the transfer of technological knowledge..
During this change journey my focus is to match the strengths of MSM with the fast changing environment strongly influenced by the current technology push. The question that I constantly ask myself is “How can we, as a congruent team, create positive added value with the transfer of technology”? Furthermore it is my goal to integrate the opportunities of exponential technological growth more in our educational programs. The historical identity of MSM, namely being the bridge to emerging countries, provides a unique platform to transfer technological knowledge to business in these emerging countries and as such create a better world by new technology!

Constantly looking for win-win situations and creating value for corporates and society…
Our strategic direction is very innovative, fully geared towards turning new technology into value for both business and society. We establish and continuously seek for new partnerships with technology experienced institutes and corporates that support our pragmatic interactive programs. With our partner platform approach we strive to be more agile, act flexible upon customer needs, dare to take risks, in short…stand for real entrepreneurship. A close collaboration with the business community and society is key in achieving these goals, constantly looking for win-win situations and creating value for corporates and society.

The Limburg Unlimited fair provided us the opportunity to show the value of both worlds…
As mentioned earlier MSM’s main focus in the past was on the “emerging countries”. Now MSM is working towards the integration, convergence and alignment of emerging markets with the local Limburg and Netherland region with a strong inspirational approach towards innovation management in which we teach you to manage technology and yourself. With 12 locations in the world companies and society can rely on MSM’s global market knowledge and unique mentality to understand what “cross border trade” means. The Limburg Unlimited fair in Maastricht, which took place on 28 and 29 March, provided us the opportunity to show the value of both worlds, driven by new technology

In my spare time you can often find me..
I love the combination of experiencing the silence of nature and at the same time challenging myself by sports, such like rowing and skiing. My family and home are key in finding my balance in daily life. I love to spend time in the garden, in the kitchen, reading a book or just simply watch a family movie together with my husband and daughter.
