At MSM we welcome talented students from many different countries around the world to strengthen their management knowledge and skills, and to show them the benefit of studying in The Netherlands. Nuffic, the Dutch organization for internationalization in Education, is an important partner in providing various forms of support, including the Orange Tulip Scholarship program to attract students from abroad. Also, this year MSM is proud to have so many international talented students in our programs. One of them is Konstantin who is currently following the full-time MBA at MSM. Let us briefly introduce you to him:
Why did you choose to study in the Netherlands?
I did my research in finding the place with the best options in education. When I realized that the Netherlands, my most favorite and congenial Western European country, is full of the best academic institutions in Europe as well as of solid English-speaking programs, my choice was quickly made. I had no doubts about entering Maastricht School of Management (MSM).
I also felt a strong desire to join a team of fellow MBA students and become part of one of the greatest business schools of Europe.
Why did you choose the full-time MBA at MSM?
When I conducted my research on MSM, I found out that a variety of entrepreneurs and managers, that now make a difference in my country and even the international economy, are alumni of the MSM MBA program. I also felt a strong desire to join a team of fellow MBA students and become part of one of the greatest business schools of Europe.
What was your first reaction when you heard you were one of the talented students who were accepted for the Orange Tulip Scholarship?
I was excited to become an OTS awardee as I felt grateful that my experience, my skills and myself as a person were highly acclaimed by those who made the decision to award the scholarship. Soon after receiving the OTS letter, I dropped other offers from other Dutch institutions with a firm conviction that MSM was my top priority.
MSM is the right place to advance and develop myself as a professional.
Can you share your experience in the program so far?
I can…! The multicultural and diverse environment of people with various backgrounds, clever and enthusiastic academic staff with a variety of teaching methods and the helpful and caring staff members of MSM confirmed to me that MSM is the right place to advance and develop myself as a professional.
How do you experience your life as an international student in Maastricht so far?
I feel very comfortable; Maastricht is a perfect place for any student. For me, it looks like Maastricht was born to become an asylum for those striving for a better education. I was especially surprised by the level of comfort in the city’s libraries. I can strongly recommend visiting the Centre Ceramique library: the best and most comfortable library I’ve ever been. Extra perk of the Netherlands and Maastricht in particular is that everybody speaks English perfectly, which makes any communication easier.
What advice would you like to give to future students who are currently thinking about applying for the Orange Tulip Scholarship at MSM?
Do not hesitate and apply for the scholarship right away: be confident in yourself and you will succeed!
