ATHEA
The executive short course is about Gender Equality and Women Empowerment. Women are still often worse off than men, and therefore including a focus on women empowerment will be instrumental to closing the gender gap.
Women are obviously entitled to equal access to economic options, business and resources but in reality, there are many factors that obstruct or prevent such equal access.
In order for gender equality to improve, women’s and men’s needs and opportunities need to be addressed not only at community level but also system-wide.
"This programme was actually a wake-up call for me as I didn’t realize how much work I needed to do for myself, for my country and my organization when it comes to women empowerment and gender equality.”
Mrs. Isra Al Tarbaghia (Libyia) participant of the June 2022 program
Attention for gender and women empowerment related issues and institutionalisation is therefore important. The program will address a number of relevant issues, ranging from strategy and policy towards agency and constraints at individual level and ways to overcome these.
“Being a social project manager, I implemented a lot of social initiatives that deal with empowering rural women to create their own businesses. Therefore, joining this program was a great opportunity to know more about gender issues and the female entrepreneurship policies. This helps me to influence, inspire and lead other women in my community.”
Mrs. Naima Fatehi (Algeria) participant of the June 2022 programme
Did you know that you can combine this programme with the Women Entrepreneurship Policy programme which will run the week after? Combining these two courses will save you up to a maximum of €500,-. For more information on the program click here or contact us
