2 years

Do you want to become an expert in managing structural engineering?

The Master of Science program in Management and Engineering in Structural Engineering and Risk Management of Industrial Facilities (MME-CONSTRUCT) is an intensive yet exciting two-year full-time program. The program will provide you with a unique practical experience and prepares you to work at the interface of technology, engineering, management and economics.

The MME-CONSTRUCT offers you an educational experience which integrates the technical and socio-economic requirements needed in the development and construction of industrial structures. Many industrial facilities suffer from design problems. These often arise from a lack of co-ordination between management and the engineers involved. This Master’s program combines the disciplines of management and engineering, and also provides you with insights from civil engineering.

5 reasons to follow this program

Broaden your career options
In today’s interconnected industrial world, technically specialized engineers endowed with business and management skills greatly improve their chances for employability. The program focuses on structural engineering and the development of risk management competencies that are key in building industrial facilities. You will be able to pursue a career in the multidisciplinary field of industrial facility design and to bring management skills to the industry, the public sector and non-governmental organizations.

Gain a world-class education in engineering
The MME-CONSTRUCT is based at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of RWTH Aachen University. The program provides you with application-based knowledge for designing, constructing and monitoring structures during regular operation activities as well as accidental events in compliance with international building codes. Upon completion of this program, you will be able to carry out site- or structure-specific risk analysis using modern tools to estimate the threat of natural hazards.

Develop your global leadership skills
Thanks to its six decades experience in global management education, MSM will help you to become a manager with a solid knowledge of core management processes and an understanding of major social and environmental issues common in emerging economies. You will work in small groups to solve problems related to global transformation and sustainable competitiveness, organization development and international project management.

Learn from the diversity around you

Not only will your fellow students represent various cultural backgrounds, but they will also come from different business sectors, educational backgrounds and provide a wealth of personal networks. This variety of profiles will help you to develop your multi-cultural skills, and build your global network.

Study in two unique historical cities
You will live and study in the heart of Europe. Aachen and Maastricht are historical cities with their own distinct languages and cultures – yet only 30 km apart. Both cities provide the perfect environment for a memorable student life.
