Location: Maastricht School of Management
This 5-day course will familiarize participants with Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) and will assist in using it in data analysis across the social sciences. Participants will also be able to cover the ideas and principles of SEM and the focus of the course will be the application of SEM models in order to address quantitative research questions. Data sets will be used and lab classes will use EQS software.
The five day short course will focus on the following areas:
- Introduction to SEM
- Confirmatory Factors Analysis
- Model Fit and Model Specification
- Structural Model
- Mediation analysis using SEM
- Multiple Group Models
The learning outcomes for participants are depicted subsequently:
- Understand the principles of structural equation modelling (SEM)
- Gain an in-depth understating of the model fit evaluation in SEM
- Learn how SEM can be used for mediation and multiple group analysis
- Familiarize on running and interpreting structural models
Participants should be familiar with basic statistics and should know how to run a correlation analysis, linear regression and t-test. No prior knowledge of Structural Equation Modelling software is necessary. The course is appropriate for doctoral students and academic researchers that use quantitative research methodologies.
Prof. Marios Theodosiou is Associate Professor at the Department of Business and Public Administration, University of Cyprus. He holds a B.Sc. in Public and Business Administration from the University of Cyprus, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Social Science Research Methods and a Ph.D. in International Marketing and Strategy from the University of Wales, Cardiff. His research interests lie in the areas of international/export marketing strategy, export sales management and strategic marketing. His work has appeared in ABS 3, 4 and 4* journals including Strategic Management Journal, Journal of World Business, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Business Research, Industrial Marketing Management, International Business Review and International Marketing Review, among others. He is currently on the editorial review board of Industrial Marketing Management, whereas he also served for three years as member of the editorial review board of the Journal of International Business Studies. He also serves as an ad hoc reviewer for various ABS 3, 4 and 4* journals including the Journal of International Business Studies, the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, the Journal of International Marketing, International Business Review, and International Marketing Review, as well as for leading marketing and international business conferences, including the American Marketing Association Conference, European Marketing Academy Conference and Academy of International Business Conference.

Students should apply for a tourist Visa and not a study Visa.

MSM reserves the right to cancel the program in case the number of participants does not meet the MSM requirements for minimum number of participants. In this case, any payment made to MSM for tuition fee will be refunded.
