The expertise area Mental, Sexual and Reproductive Health covers components of gender equality, sexual and gender based violence, sexual and reproductive health care and mental health. Gender equality is a cross cutting theme in many of MSM’s initiatives and the main focus in a few specific projects. Through institutional strengthening, capacity development amongst staff and training of trainers, MSM improves sexual and reproductive health care for and the mental health of vulnerable groups such as women and girls in East-Africa and Syrian adolescents living in Lebanon. Further, MSM has extensive experience managing projects that contribute to the fight against sexual and gender based violence (SGBV). SGBV occurs not only during times of conflict but also during times of peace; the unfortunate reality in regions with prevailing patriarchal ideologies. Project countries include Lebanon, Angola, Burundi, Central Africa Republic, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.
