MSM in China

Maastricht School of Management has been active in China for almost twenty years and is formally recognized as a university by the Chinese government.

Its first MBA programs, which include an Executive MBA and an International MBA, were started in 1997 in collaboration with Nanjing University, one of the oldest and most respected universities in the country.  Since then almost 800 students have successfully graduated from these programs.

In 1999 a special initiative was undertaken in partnership with Nanjing University, namely the establishment of the Sino-Dutch International Business Centre (SDIBC) at Nanjing University.

The SDIBC has become an influential business unit within Nanjing University’s Business School, and promotes the joint MBA programs with MSM, arranges workshops, conferences and other events.

It is also a spearhead for program innovations in China: for instance in 2015 MSM and Nanjing University Business School launched two new Executive MBA specializations: in healthcare management and in innovation management.

Maastricht School of Management has also over time build up a solid partnership with one of the largest companies in China, the Baosteel Group. This company, the largest steel producer in China and a Fortune 500 company, has for around 13 years been sending its managers to MSM for tailor-made executive education.
