Special Issue: International Entrepreneurship in the New Global Economy
The field of international entrepreneurship is concerned with how entrepreneurs identify and utilize opportunities across borders, and how the nature and impact of entrepreneurship differ across countries and regions. The speed and impact of globalization, the growing dominance of multinational corporations and outsourcing in the world economy, the rise of the BRICS economies and the challenges posed by food, water and land scarcity, climate change and other global public goods have made a re-assessment of the field of international economics timely. Indeed, a legitimate question is how this relative young discipline is (or should be) evolving in light of significant reconfigurations in the global economic landscape and the growing prominence of challenges with a global public good character.
Hence the
ERJ is hereby calling for papers for a special issue of the Journal on International Entrepreneurship. Both empirical and theoretical papers, as well as multidisciplinary papers that offer critical and novel contributions to the field, in light of the context as described above, are welcome. In particular, papers that addresses the role that international entrepreneurship can play in addressing issues of economic and social development, growth, interactions with multinational corporations and global public goods, such as food security, water stress, peace-building, and green economic growth, are being sought.
